I was looking for a Mac Mini as a backup computer since I already have a 2012 Macbook Pro, but I also came across a White Macbook for a good price too. Both are Core2Duos and have 2GB RAM. The Mac Mini I can get for $50-$75 and the White Macbook I can get for $150-$170. I planned on putting in a SSD drive to whichever I get and upgrading the RAM down the line as well. I already have an extra keyboard and monitor as well if I get the Mac Mini.

I guess my question is which would be a better deal for a backup computer? I know its relatively easy to put a SSD in the White Macbooks but I'm not familiar with doing it to the Mac Mini's. Would I notice the extra 0.4GHZ speed and is it worth the extra $100?

The 2007 has only a DVI port on the back. The 2009 has a mini-DVI and mini-DisplayPort. If it is a 2007, get the Macbook. If it is a 2009, get the Mini.

What year is the MB? I'm thinking older than 2010 or someone is giving a great deal. If it's a 2010 MB, get it and upgrade the drive to SSD and get 16Gs ram for it. Keep it or resell it for 500/600.
