2.1 --->2.2--->restore?

If i update to 2.2 and decide to restore, will my phone be restored back to 2.1 or 2.2? I'm asking because my 3G iPhone is hardware unlocked and i don't want to risk not having any service.

if you restore in itunes, it will restore to the latest version. You would have to ctrl click the restore button and select the file of the 2.1 firmware.
