2.1 GHz MacBook for $500 CDN

Hey guys,
My parents are interested in getting a Mac and my cousin bought one off of eBay that was advertised as not working for $200 (without a MagSafe connector and battery). He opened it up and fixed a few things and it worked! The seller had said he spilled milk on the inside (the amount is unknown) but there is no smell of bad milk, looks like no liquid damage....... we're thinking the seller just didn't wait long enough for it to dry.

Anyways, he's willing to sell it to my parents for $500 with a MagSafe he bought off of ebay and a battery that lasts 2 hours he also got off of eBay. I believe the computer does not have any of the one year warranty left and no AppleCare.

Here are the specs:

2.1 GHz Core 2 Duo MacBook
2 GB RAM
80 GB HDD (I believe)

Is this a good deal for $500 CAN? I think it is but I'm just wondering HOW good of a deal it is.

It's definitely be an excellent deal IF the laptop works. Make sure to thoroughly test it before you make the purchase. Otherwise, go for it, that's the least you'll spend for a Mac in Canada by far!
