i pay for a iphone 3g and its really a ipod regular. my iphone 3g with 2.1 update just started today going to E for Edge alway even when there is alot of 3g service in the area. was working good all weekend. did any of yall get this issue
It just sounds like there is a local problem with your towers serving the 3G signal. I would contact at&t and complain, perhaps sending someone to investigate.

You'll get this issue any time the 3G network says it is nearly full. Ultimately, the network does decide whether you go on 2G or 3G, and will load balance. If it seems way more people are on 3G and very little activity is on 2G, it's going to start punting people onto EDGE and GSM, even if the signal is strong.
