iPod touch 2.2 update not coming up...

I just got an ipod touch for christmas. I've got it all synced to my computer, but the 2.2 update doesn't show up! The ipod is already running version 2.1.1. When I go into iTunes and press update it tells me I'm already on the newest version, but I'm not, it says 2.1.1, not 2.2.

How do I go about getting the 2.2. update to appear?

You have to update your iTunes to the lastest version.

I did, its iTunes 8.02.

I was able to get this figured out. Turns out, even though I had iTunes 8.02(20), the newest version, I had to download the stand alone iTunes installer, install iTunes over itself again, and then the update appeared.

Very strange. I figured this out by plugging it into my Macbook, which asked for the update straight away.
