I'm ordering a customized MacBook and I'm in Southern California. Build-to-orders ship from China if I'm not mistaken. If I'm ordering either tomorrow or Saturday, is it worth it to opt for 2-3 day shipping?

Anyone from California who bought a BTO?

In Southern CA, near Thousand Oaks. Ordered a 17'' BTO last Fri the 12th. Upgraded the CPU to 3.06 GHz and the HDD to 7200 RPM. Ordered the free ipod touch too.

Website told me it would take 5-7 business days to build and ship and I'm out of town next week so I didn't even bother with the 2-3 day shipping. Turns out it was ready to ship by Monday night

The Fedex tracker still says the notebook won't be here til the 23rd, which is nonsense since it's already in the truck out for delivery. Canoga Park is about 20 minutes away from where I live, so unless they're planning to keep the package in the truck for the next 5 days, I should get the computer today.

So my BTO that said it would take 5-7 business days to build was built in a day. And I didn't pay for 2-3 day shipping but got it anyway

I wouldn't use 2-3 day shipping...

I ordered my MBP 13" last Thursday and it's still in SHANGHAI!

What good is 2 day shipping at this point?
