I know the new ETA is 2-3 weeks to get a iphone 5 but do you think that will change to less over the next week or so?? I have to wait until next week to order...

Depends,on how many phones actually ship to here from china and there may be cancellations both by the providers and buyers freeing up some phones.

Apple's shipping estimates are extremely conservative. Anything I've ordered from them with a shipping estimate longer than same or 1 day, always arrived sooner than expected. Apple likes to under promise and over deliver.
