I just received a new phone from verizon, after mine broke. I plug it into itunes, with only a few apps on it and no music. 2.4 gigs of OTHER. what is this?

Configuration data, app data, contact information, messages, emails(including downloaded attachments), the list goes on. Restore as new and it'll shrink in size but never go away fully.

could be corrupted data. You need to restore your phone to factory settings and then re-sync everything on itunes.

my "other" on my 64 GB iPhone 4s is only .68 GB.

well somehow, i just synced it with itunes to get the pictures from my old phone back on the new one, and it shrunk to .47 gigs. well thank you everyone for ur help
