Hello everyone! I am new here and I am not a computer savvy person. In the past, I owned an LC II!!! and then I thot i would try Windows, and currently have a 6 year old toshiba laptop, which i am ready to throw out the window....I can't stand windows anymore, and I am, alas, going Mac again!!! I know that there has been other posts asking 2.4 or 2.5, but i think my needs are different.

Being out to lunch on the Mac world for so long, I need help in deciding between a 2.4 and a 2.5 MBP and a large Monitor....

I will be using it for adobe stuff like illustrator, photoshop, dreamweaver, hopefully flash in the future, to design brochures, websites, etc.......also internet surfing, word processing, and powerpoint etc....NOT gaming, or 3D on CAD.....

I have the money, but i would like to spend the least amt for my needs, so that i can put the amt i save towards a newer mac laptop much later. I am not a professional. (maximize capability, but minimize cost and think of the future)

therefore:

1. 2.4GHZ with 4Gb and 320 Gb @ 5400 or 7200 OR 2.5 with 4Gb and 320 Gb at 5400 or 7200? OR just go all out and go for a 17" :D, (but dunno about the new battery)

2. 5400 or 7200....heard that 7200 drains battery power, yet to run the 24" Mac LCD monitor, which is best?...i want to maximize the quality of the 24" monitor.

3. should i get the 24" mac monitor at all or get an LCD tv and convert?

Sorry for the long post, but the more detail i give, the better advice i will get. Thank you for any input!! Any other possible suggestions for alternate combinations are welcome!
