I'm new to this forum and hopefully soon, new to Macs!
I am heavily considering purchasing a new 2.4GHz i5 MBP very soon because i would like a change of scenery and something that will last for a good few years.
5 months ago i bought an Asus K52Jr laptop which i have been very happy with and has operated with no problems at all. yet the battery life is pretty poor and i would like a larger, more intuitive touch pad that i can use more freely.
The main reasons for the change are not down to performance however i am interested to know how they would stack up and if i should expect much, if any improvements over the Asus.
It currently has an i3 350M processor with 4GB ram and an ATI radeon 5470 1GB
It scores 6.4, 5.9, 5.1, 6.2, 5.7 respectively in the win 7 index if that is of much relevance.
Also, i am an industrial design student so i am interested to know how effectively 3D modeling programs and photoshop etc would work on this Mac.
