2.4GHz Quad-core i7 vs. 2.4GHz Quad-core i7..buying advice

I'm about purchase a new MBP 15" to upgrade from my 2007 C2D 2.33ghz.

Is the 2.5 worth the $250 premium over the 2.4? I'll probably keep this MBP for as long as the 2.33 so I am wondering if I should spend the extra money.

Since you don't list what you use your computer for, it's impossible to say. Facebook and watching movies still work fine on your 2.33 GHz C2D.

As a general rule, I'd say it's not worth it.

It isn't. $250 for 4% increase in performance is not worth it.

Even less considering max Turbo is just 3% and for some stuff it doesn't matter at all or clockspeeds only help to a certain amount and 3-4% become close to 0%.
