The way I see it, you're getting 2GB of RAM, 70GB of HS space, and 130 MHz of speed.

The RAM has some value, because I highly recommend 4GB, and you'd need to replace both 1GB sticks to get there. The HD space is usable but not worth a ton. The 130 MHz isn't really going to be visible.

If you can spare the $100, you might as well. But I don't think it's worth more than that, and maybe a bit less. But... if you'll be second-guessing yourself if you get the cheaper one, spend the money for peace of mind. :)

Well there is one other difference... the L2 Cache is "6MB" on the pricier model and "3mb" on the cheaper one... is the accurate?

I missed that - and the bump from 256MB to 512MB video RAM.

That $100 is seeming to me to be very worthwhile now. :)

Oh yeah there is THAT too... I forgot I saw that.. but I heard the 512mb RAM is kind of useless...

So it's worthwhile? Why do you think it's so cheap?

Older model? Do you think that makes a difference?

I'm sure the price is just because it's an older model. It is, BTW, exactly the same as the one I'm typing on now, and I love it. :)

Ah nice! How does the video card perform? I had no intentions of getting one with 512mb but since you have one... maybe I can come up with more uses for it.

What do you use your MBP for? Games? Graphics? I'm really thinking this is the best model for me. I don't know why anyone would buy the 2.4 ghz one when 100 bucks is so little in the bigger picture.

I've never had an issue with the video card, but, then again, I don't game on this. I do Java and Mac development, watch movies, etc. For those things, it's great, but of course my graphics needs are limited. I can't imagine you'd be disappointed, even if you game. The reviews have been pretty good.

This is a fantastic deal, take it!

It cost me $100 to buy 4GB of ram, you'll be getting that, the hd space, the cache, the speed, and the vram.

Got it! Thanks all... that's a lot of money... but so had to pull the trigger on it... now I'm selling my 2.2ghz whitebook... the last of the X3100 GPU series. Y'all think $750 is a good price for it? It's still got my Best Buy Warranty on it and I upgraded the RAM to 4 GB
