Hi! for some reason I cannot find any benchmarks for Final Cut Studio.

The CPU speed doesn't make a difference in games and like surfing the web like the GPU does. So benchmarking the games with the different CPUs is kind of useless (which i see a lot on the internet).

But it does make a difference in video editing and I was wondering whether it made a whole lot of difference.

There's only one benchmark available that I can find which benchmarks Compressor. It's only 10 seconds faster (and note that the 2.8 they were using had 7200rpm while the 2.53 had 5400rpm).

Does anyone have any benchmarks or any idea how much faster 2.8ghz is compared to 2.53ghz in Final Cut Pro or Motion? Maybe throw in Soundbooth as well.

Note that while I can afford both, I can put the extra money saved from the 2.53ghz into something else (whether it's worth more than the processor speed is of course dependent on how fast it is). Also note that I have the late 2006 stock 2.33ghz, 2GB of RAM, x1600M Radeon, so I will definitely see a jump with either of these...it's just the jump between these two.

Thanks!
