2.66 GHz vs. 2.8 GHz 15" MBP

Hi there,

I will be buying a 15.4" MBP in the near future, and I'm stuck whether to buy the 2.66 GHz, 4GB RAM, 320GB HD, 256MB 9600M Video card... Or the 2.8GHz, 4GB RAM, 320GB HD, 512MB 9600M Video Card.

I will be doing video editing, music production, some gaming (not much), and other basic functions. People have told me that the only major difference is the graphics card. I will be buying it from the Canadian Education Store so it's a difference of $250CAD. Any opinions?

Sounds like you could use the extra graphics capabilities as well as the faster processor. If you can afford it, why not?

There's no difference really, GPU is the same, only 256Mb memory which gives you few frames more. Only "big" difference is CPU's cache, 2.66 has 3Mb while 2.8 has 6Mb. I would get 2.8 model because difference is so small and it will have greater resale value as well
