I'm wondering what the difference practically is between these 2 models, and if it's worth the extra money or not.

I know the 2.8 has 512MB on the graphics card, as opposed to 256MB. I am not a gamer. Will this make any difference for me?

The 320 GB HDD seems big enough.

I want to keep this computer for a few years, and I do light video and photo editing, photoshop, indesign, etc.

Anything else I should be taking into consideration?

Thanks for your help.

I configured the 2.66 and the 2.8 model identically with a 500GB 7200 rpm HDD... And it turns out the 2.8 model is only ~150$ more than the 2.66 but you get 512MB vs 256MB video card ram, 6MB L2 cache vs 3MB (i.e 3MB per core instead of 1.5MB) and of course 2.8GHz vs 2.66GHz.

So if you take this all into account, the additional 150$ is quite marginal compared to the price of the laptop (~2300$)

I think its worth it :D

(THis is using the educational discount btw)
