So, I'm not sure if the 2.66 Quad will be enough for me, with it's RAM limitations. Or if I should try to get a 2.26 Octo. Keep in mind that this would have to last me 4-5 years. Also, price is an issue. I'll only be getting the Octo if I'll have issues with the RAM limit on the Quad.
I would be using the Mac Pro for the following:
Recording with Logic Studio
Photo editing with PhotoShop (I never use more then 25 layers)
Other then that, it would be used for some gaming (Flight Sim X), web browsing, email, iWork, and iTunes. Please don't recommend an iMac, because I currently have one, and I can't stand the built in screen.
What do you guys think? Will the 8GB RAM cap affect me?
