2.7 gig of other wtf

I am in the same boat as you, both my iPhone and iPad show large amounts of 'Other' data that is unexplained.
Their are other threads from the past few days that discuss this exact same issue. Some people have posted possible solutions, but no matter what I do, my 'other' data seems to return (and a visit to the Genus Bar didn't help much either).
