am looking at the new mac pro's and whilst understand the basics of the faster single or slower twin processors..anyone explain how they may run in the real world for my use?

i am a photographer using LR3, CS5 and Final Cut Pro for pics and vid's with MBP 2.8, 4gb's..so will i notice much performance improvement on the above models and which will be better longer run and give me faster performance 2.8 quad core 8gb or 2.4 eight core 8gb?

tks

I think the Quad 2.8ghz is the better choice for you since most of the apps you'll be using are single thread apps as they use 2 cores. Except for Compressor which will benefit with more cores. Not sure if Final Cut Pro is multi-thread.
