2.8ghz refurb or new 2.66?

Soon I'll be replacing my sony vaio with a new MBP (I can hardly wait!)

I can currently purchase a refurb 2.8 for about the same as a new 2.66 with my ed. discount. Which do you think is the better buy?

Will the 2.8's eventually support 8ghz of ram with a firmware upgrade?

buy the 2.66 because it definitely can support 8GB and 144mhz is not that big of a deal.
