I'm in the market for a display for my incoming MacStudio and I was wondering if it is better to get 2 ASD or 1 XDR? Considering the XDR is a 3 year old product is it not better to go for the ASDs? It's also half the price...

Anyone in a similar situation and decided against one or the other? Can you shares some of your thought process? Thanks!

Personally I would have preferred one XDR, but $6000 was way more than I was willing to spend. $3000 for two ASDs ain't cheap, either, but I could at least live with that a little better.

I went with 2 ASD( Tilt and Height Adjustable) and Mac Studio. And I don't have any regrets.

My preference was due to Inbuilt Webcam, Speakers; and two 27 5k Monitor setup is better than 32inch single monitor and Lot cheaper :)

I got the XDR for my main screen and placed 3 height/tilts on the sides. The XDR blows them away but the side displays work and look great still.

In my academic office at work I've got one 32" 4K in the center flanked by a 24" portrait on each side (PC workstation). However, attempting to do that with a $6000 XDR and two $1500 ASDs would lead to divorce!

My diagnostic workstation at work uses a 34" 12MP Barco Coronis Uniti (4200 x 2800 self-calibrating medical grade LCD with 1000 nits of sustained brightness) plus two 24" 1920x1200 displays on either side for text. The Barco is a $32,000 FDA-approved display, however, so not something anyone would want in their home. Weighs 75lbs by itself.
