I am using my MacBook Pro via USB-C to an LG UltraWide. The monitor also functions as my hub for my printer, mouse, and keyboard.

If I plug my work-from-home graphically intensive desktop into the DisplayPort or HDMI input of the same monitor, how will the keyboard and mouse know which device I am using? How will I get this to work?

Thanks in advance -

K

That whole all-in-one hub on those monitors is only if your computer is connecting via the USB-C/Thunderbolt connector for display and USB. I suspect.

You'd want to use a KVM switch for the USB devices. USB devices to KVM then KVM to desktop and monitor (peripheral connectors not USB C input). This is one I use. For me it works fine for a printer, webcam, keyboard and mouse to two computers.
