My iPod Touch is synced to my desktop. I'm going to get a laptop in a couple of weeks. Will i be able to hook up the Touch to it without it deleting everything? I do not intend to copy anything over from the desktop to the laptop.

The reason i want to hook up the Touch to the laptop is to play music since i don't want to use the laptop hard drive for music storage.

you can manually manage music on the touch for the second computer, so yea

I've noticed when the ipod is connected to the desktop, all the music is grey'd out. So i wondering if i'll be able to play the files on the laptop. It would be crazy if i couldn't do this. I know i was able to put my other ipod in any computer (at work i'd listen to my music from my ipod and share the library)...so i just hope it's possible with the Touch. I've seen so much about it just working through syncing.
