I'm setup now to do 2 finger swipe back with the trackpad, but it only works in Safari. I want to enable swiping back (page back) in Finder, and the only way that seems to be work is to change it to 3 finger. When you do that, it disables the ability to drag with 3 fingers.

I just switched from the magic mouse to trackpad. How do you drag things with the trackpad if you turn off the 3 finger gesture to drag? I can't seem to figure out how to do this.

This might be a good solution for you, if you're willing to use a third-party application Better TouchTool. Saw it earlier this week when I was looking for a solution to fix 3-finger swipe up and down motion in Firefox 4 and later, when used in Lion. It worked fine in Snow Leopard and before.

Anyway give this a shot, it's highly customizable and should be able to do what you need. Just remember to add it to the StartUp at Mac OS X and you will be good to go.
