iPod touch 2 gen iTouch 8gb won't turn on

When i hold the top button the apple symbol appears and that is it. The same thing happens when i hold the front button and also when i hold both. When i plug it in the computer the apple symbol appears and when I open iTunes it says that the iTouch needs to be restored. When it was done restoring i ejected it and tried turning it on but the apple symbol appeared again so i plug it back in and then itunes tells me tells me it needs to be restored. please help me

P.S. i am on a PC
