i have an ipad 2 which i use for university and connect to my MacBook Pro through itunes to download lecture notes and store on the main computer. I am thinking of buying an ipad 2 for my 80 year old mother to use on my wireless internet at home. If i connect the second ipad to my mac to be able to print would my mac see this as a separate ipad and print out her letters and emails without changing any settings to my main ipad. my mac is still using snow leopard. If it is possible advice on how to do this would be appreciated

Yes it will you just need to name the iPad something different
