2 iPods off one Mac

Does anyone know if I can run 2 iPods off one Mac?

I have ordered the 40gb click wheel iPod and already have a 20gb 2nd gen iPod that my wife will use.

The questions are:

what will happen if the music library is greater in size than the iPods capacity?

will my mac try to update software to the wrong iPod?

there are probably a hundred other things that might go wrong that I haven't though of....

It will take and create a playlist of the songs that will fit on the iPod. Forgot where it is in the preferences, but you will want to setup playlists of each identity of the iPods.

There was a thread about this less than a month ago, use the search function. There were some pretty extensive answers given. Also, I think Apple may have an answer. Try looking on http://info.apple.com.
