I am having two or more general system wide problems I can't figure out
am running the latest sequoia on an M1 air c2020

1 - the screen keeps automatically splitting and sending apps to one side or the other -
(some answers possibly here.... )

2 - many problems with clicking / selecting - when I click on a link to open the link, the system automatically tries to save something rather than taking me to the link - I get around it (annoyed) by getting to the "open in new tab" option but like I say this annoying

3 - more problems with selecting - it's like it right clicks when I don't want to right click, it's like something is forcing a variety of click I don't want ...

I was using an older and possibly buggy apple trackpad, I got rid of this (ordered a brand new one) and some of the problems cleared up but still experiencing some..

help! grateful for any feedback / suggestions!

Maybe your keyboard has a sticky "Control" key? A Ctrl-left click does the same thing as a right-click.

Maybe an unintended Ctrl-click causes the other issues, as well...

Maybe try plugging in an external keyboard.

thank you!

Here is an update: It definitely was a sticky magic trackpad - I purchased a new one and the problem essentially went away .... BUT after using the new one for a few hours, the problem re-appeared, then I restarted and it was gone.

Hopefully it won't come back....

so far so good!
