2 OS X Problems

Hey, I have 2 problems in OS X and I can't figure out what is causing them.

First off is a folder problem, I recently downloaded a film and renamed the folder. After I renamed it I couldn't see the text unless I highlighted it. I've tried to make a new folder and and drop the AVI file into it but the folder still wont show the text.

Secondly is another small problem, basically whenever I go to change my wallpaper. I see loads of files which only display the file format and not the picture, I can't figure why this is.

Any help would be appreciated.

But all lovely banter aside, did the "repairing permissions" part work or not?

Perhaps its the "Paranormal Activity" that's messing with you and not the OS.

Btw, did the original folder still had the problem after the new folder was created, or did the new folder acquire the problem?
Do other folders have the same problem?


For the second image, what happens if you change the views (CMD+1-4) or select the View Options (CMD+J) and deselect "Show Icon Preview"?

Oh and the problem just started when I went to rename the original folder.
