iPhone 2 questions iphone 4s no sim and power button broke

Hello
I have one of my daughters old 4s. It does not have a SIM card as I took it out and through it away. <<<stupid. Anyway the power button is also broke. Here are my 2 questions.
Can I use a sim from one of their 5s to activate it and then remove it?
Can I use assistive touch for the broke power button if I need or want to jailbreak it??

The SIMs for the phones are of different sizes; you will need an adapter.
