2 Questions on Leopard

Hello
I have to Leopard related issues. Maybe someone has the same problems

1. Mail does not display the number of new mails in the Inbox. It only shows the number in the dock icon but not in the Mailbox list of the window.

2. I've accidentally deleted the Download stack in the dock. How can I recreate it (the folder is still in my home).

1.)Not sure as mine shows it correctly, have you restarted Mail
2.) Drag the Downloads folder to the Dock and it will appear as a stack
