iPod 2 quick ipod 5g quests

1) i want to use itrip with mine when i get it, but i want to leave the ipod in the case too when its playing so it doesnt get scratched

are there any cases that allow me to connect the itrip in the dock through it? i have that invisible shield one for my nano which i really like, but i HATE how it makes the clickwheel feel.....any alternatives to that?

2) i know you cant boot via the ipod anymore (like boot os x off it), but is tht bc of the ipod itself, or only because they dont ship with a firewire cable anymore?

The 5G iPod doesn't have the necessary chip(s) in it that support FireWire, so there's no way you'll get booting via FireWire to work. Not that I'd recommend booting off an iPod anyway!

You don't have to put the clickwheel covering part of the invisibleshield on the iPod. I have an invisibleshield on my 5g, and I just removed the wheel cover when I installed it.
