2 second delay in video from firewire camera to imovie

it says it's operating in realtime, but it's delayed. what's wrong? the firewire is directly connected to the macbook pro....

But the video comes through fine? What are you wanting to do that requires realtime? Have you tried using the camera in iChat? That may work for you. I don't know what you need it for.

it won't work in ichat at all.... camera is not even recognized...

There's usually a little latency when you're using firewire, to capture but its usually more like a half second or second. There shouldn't be any problems editing wise, unless you're trying to do something in a live setting that requires very close syncing.
