Has anyone heard about the phone with two screens, one on each side?
I can't remember where I read this, but apparently it's not a joke.
I wonder how that would work?
It sure would kill the case industry if it ever caught on.

They even went full Jony Ive with the promotional video.

I have to say, this is a really nice idea, and I wouldn't be miffed at all if something like this wound up on a future iPhone model. It might even pacify the Blackberry diehards who insist the iPhone needs a notification light... why bother with a blinking LED when an e-ink screen can tell you a whole lot more and use almost no battery doing it?

The concern I have is how durable that e-ink screen is. That's basically the body of the phone, and given how other e-ink screens wear over time, that might not be a good idea.

So you always lay your phone on the screen?

Terrible idea overall

What's the point really?

"Ohh... let me look on what is on this screen... Now let me look on what is on the other screen..." *flips the phone*

Humm... Unless it has some hidden utility advantage i see no gain on 2 screens like that...

I find it pretty refreshing. The paper ink screen uses a fraction of battery life. So you can text and do tasks that don't require a 1080p screen on the paper ink side and watch movies and game on the colored screen side. Imagine reading an ebook on your phone with the kindle app using that low-powered screen. You're not practically wasting any battery. I find it pretty cool.

I only wish it was much cheaper than it's listed now.
