2 year old MBP 15" or brand new

Hello forum,

I've never used a Mac in my life; they're quite uncommon in my country. My new job comes with a MacBook though, and I'd like some advice. My employer has given me two options:

1) A two year old MacBookPro 15" with the option to upgrade in a year
2) A brand new MacBookPro of my choice with the option to upgrade in three years

What do you think? Any advice would be greatly appreciated!

Why wait? get the new one now. you may not even have a job in 3 years

Go for the new one now. And if money won't be a problem, get the high end 15" or 17" depending on your screen size and portability tastes.

I'd say the new one now.

I've been a PC user and a Mac user for a long time, and Macs last much longer. Also, if you're in a job situation where you NEED some kind of an upgrade, you'll get it.
