For what I can afford I'm looking to buy the 2.0 Ghz 20" Imac for $1,099(back to school sale). But I noticed the 2.16 Ghz White Macbook was selling for $1,129. Why would a faster laptop be close in price to a slower desktop. Does the speed of the HD and the Graphics card make that big a difference? I would rather by a desktop to get something more powerfull for cheaper, but if they are about the same it would be nice to have a portible laptop but I don't totally need it. I do a lot of video editing.

.....as well as a desktop class bigger faster hard drive and a decent graphics card. Also the laptop being faster than the desktop can't really be clear cut., the desktop has a faster FSB than the notebook.
so would the desktop be considerbly faster for video editing? With a faster HD and Graphics card even though it has a slightly slower processor?
