I try to put a disc in and there is something stopping it. Its a little white thing that must grab the disk or activate it or something. Any ideas how to reset this thing or make it grab a disc when you insert one?

what exactly did you do to fix it, in case someone has the same problem in the future and finds this thread with a search.
