I was browsing through the store today and noticed that the 20" iMac G5 is signgicantly cheaper than its Intel counterpart.

20" iMac G5 $1499 ($1399 Education)
20" Intel Imac $1699

That's an awesome deal for a 20" G5. 17" iMac prices are still the same on both platforms. Logic dictates that Apple has significant inventory of the 20" G5's that it is having trouble getting rid of.

2nd that

I'll second that... I just picked up a 20" for 1299 at the local University bookstore. They blew out their stock of G5's in a day or two. 17" were going for 999.

Amazon has already updated their price as well. The 20" iMac G5 is now only $1,349.99 after rebate and has free shipping. That's a great deal.

When I go to Amazon it says $1499.

Hate to break the news but my mom got an iMac G5 new w/out iSight 20" for 799.

Edu. price.

Way to go, mom.

If any of you live in SD, I would reccommend hitting up the UCSD bookstore for a $699 iMac G5 17"er

are you kidding me?? is this a rev. C (isight model)? If so, that's an amazing deal. Even if it's an earlier revision it's pretty good.

edit: oh, and it's nice to see the price drop, but I still think I'd spend the extra $200 for the intel version. But at least now they're both viable choices.
