This post on the Apple Support pages may be interesting for people. My machine regularly put itself to sleep or shut down on it's own. Shutting of the power switch on my display took care of that problem.

However my machine still Kernel Panics waking from sleep, sounds like it has happened to others.

Time to call Apple support

I had this same problem when I first bought mine! I was soooo glad to see there was a fix. The crazy thing is I returned the mac I bought because I thought it was the culprit. But when I came home and the other one did it too, I thought my wall outlet was not providing enough powe! This post should help a few people from running around like I did!
