20 Minutes to burn a CD in iTunes 7.5

Okay, so I got a friend who is burning a CD in iTunes 7.5 on her MacBook she bought a few weeks ago and it's taking 20 minutes to burn a CD with 21 songs with the write speed set to "Maximum Possible."

Format of song files? (MP3, AAC, WAV, AIFF)
Has she tried picking a preferred speed (like 24x) instead of Maximum?

They're all unprotected MP3's and no she's only tried it at "maximum" speed.

So after she took 20 minutes to burn the CD it wouldn't play. She tried again tonight and I changed the maximum write speed to 12x and it only took about 7 minutes to burn and it plays.
