Hello dears,

I don't have very much money to spend. I have been saving up for quite a while to purchase the revered mac pro, because I am a pretentious filmmaker.

I have read these forums for months and months and no one has asked this specific monitor advice question that I have seen so I am finally asking you expert dudes.

I specifically want to know your opinions on whether if it would make more sense to purchase my friend's used 2-year old 20" ACD for $375 (or even, let's say, a refurbished $499 20" ACD from the apple store), even though these monitors are not full HD and anything I would be trying to monitor on them would be necessarily downgraded. OR, would you, in my shoes, opt for something along the lines of a Samsung or BenQ (or dell or whirlpool or taco bell or whatever) 24" 1920x1200 monitor on which I could monitor HD video in full resolution? I know these non-ACD monitors have problems with viewing angles, color accuracy, and so forth, but I can't decide whether those problems outweigh the downscaled resolution of a similarly priced 20" ACD. Also, I don't have the money for any advanced HD monitoring that takes care of the interlacing/broadcast quality problems yet.

So, non-HD :apple: display, or HD lesser display?

THE CHOICE IS YOURS, FOR ME

Note: I couldn't decide whether to post this in this forum, Digital Video, or Buying Advice, so if I did something wrong just shoot me in the head and delete this topic but please don't berate me even though similar but not identical questions have been asked a billion times and I make everyone cry tears of blood with my redundancy.
