200,000 threads

How many posts are there?

The forum should have some kind of award for the 1,000,000 post (if were not there yet).

I believe we're somewhere around 2.4 million. This is post 2,400,447 so says the address bar...
 
Yours was the 2400447th post. Now exactly 2.4 million, but I suppose you were close enough. ;) But, of course, you knew that already.

Just hover your mouse by the post number in the upper right hand of your post (like the #4 by mine) and you'll see the post number in the resulting URL at the bottom of your browser (if you have the status bar visible).

Just mouse over something like the "report post" button... it has the post # there.

I must say though... every single one of the posts have been 100% old fashioned QUALITY.

When I noticed that thread 200000 went by, I wondered if dferrara (who started that thread) deserved a big prize. So I bought him a dozen roses. Then I remembered Mother's Day was coming up, so I'll need the roses on Sunday. Sorry, dferrara. Try for 300000.

Showing up as Q's sidekick, that first one is easy: roughly 12 (2.4 million posts, 200,000 threads... ~12 posts per thread).

Of course, that doesn't take into account deleted posts or threads.

But I'm going to say 12.

Average length? I have no idea whatsoever. My guess is approximately 200 characters. But I have no real way of knowing, or at least no easy way.
 
Yeah i figured out the first one so i added in the second afterwards :p

So now take away all the threads that have no replies and i bet that number would skyrocket to about 20 i believe

And subtract spam threads that were thrown into the wasteland that just have "reported" as a reply
 
You realize, of course, that even as we speak (or write), Q is compiling a list of averages, median values, Gaussian curves, etc. You know he is... ;)

i hope he is. i love looking at the stats, even though i can't figure them out myself. which is why Q is great!
