Hi, I have been given an iBook - the back of the computer says it is a 2002 model, A1005.

I need a charger for it but am a bit confused as to whether I need the 45w or 65w charger.

Can anyone help?

It should be the 45w. But it won't hurt anything if you get the 65w.

I have a later model. I went through two 45w replacements before finally getting a 65w. I don't know if this means anything to you but, as was previously posted, you can't go wrong with 65w.

+1 for the higher wattage adapter. I did that for my MBA. I can't prove it. but it seems to charge faster with the 85w adapter.
