I have a 2004 iMac. I keep waiting for it to die so I can justify a new one, but it runs as well today as it did the day I bought it.

I also have a 2007 iPod.

I was happily marching along using iTunes version 7.7.1 until iTunes 10.3 came out. Now, I can no longer access the iTunes store.

A call to Apple support informed me that iTunes no longer supports version 7.7.1. They sent me an email w/a link to some troubleshooting tips, but the link they sent doesn't work.

My Mac OSX is 10.3.9. I am not compatible w/the new iTunes, but it seems to me that I should be compatible with SOME more recent version.

When I do try to check for software updates in iTunes, it tells me that there are no updates.

Am I SOL here or is there something I can do?

Surely Apple wants to sell me music even though I have older equipment.....right????

Thanks for any suggestions.

The older iTunes (8.2.2 and older) version of the iTunes store was discontinued in September of 2010. If you want to use a newer version, you'll have to upgrade to Tiger (max 9.2.1) or Leopard.
