On another note, Walmart makes me throw up a little in my mouth each time I think about it.

Watch "The High Cost of Low Price" and then buy from Walmart, I dare you. :p

Looks like Walmart is the place to be this year. 42" Plasma TV for $979 among other things.

Not sure where gottadeal is getting their info but I am going to have to go with bf2005. They have an actual scan of the ad which matches what wal mart now shows online and the plasma tv is not even in the ad. The do have it listed online as an online only special and the price is actually 1498 not 979.

Ah, Black Friday. Whenever I hear about insane deals such as this one, I just see a bunch of people getting trampled as they rush to be the first ones in the store. Of course, I will be going shopping as well, but not anywhere as crazy as Wal-Mart.

I leave my Christmas shopping to the last minute and I like doing things that way. It may cost more but I don't get imprints of shoes on my face.

I'd rather pay $1800 for that TV than buy it from Satan -er, WalMart.

I never, ever go out shopping on Black Friday. The roads are a hazard to life and limb, and the stores are full of trolls that trample and fight over the last tickle-me-elmo doll.

I didn't watch it, but I heard most of their information was false or misconstrued. And most of the video was edited to be biased. I dunno though, maybe WalMart paid my local paper to print that article :D

I realized a few years ago that the bargains that are to be found on Black Friday are the everyday prices (in most cases) a few weeks/months later.

I'd rather sleep in, avoid the insanity, and get the same deal a few months later...

I have searched the entire wal mart site and cannot find it anywhere. Can you link a URL or tell me how you found it.

Go to walmart.com

In the middle of the page they have a banner that advertizes the 5-11am specials...click that, enter your zip code, choose the store nearest you, and then it shows you the flyer that will be coming out probably tomorrow...(when do all the "early-bird" special flyers come out?)

Did that, which is the link in my original post. My flyer does not have a $997 42 inch plasma. I even chose the Stroudsburgh PA store that you used. I am just not seeing it.

Edit: Wow, never mind. I go to walmart.com now and they have updated the page with the plasma. Originally on mind it was a LCD TV for $178.

Don't encourage people to shop on evil black Friday as I have to be at work at 5AM its the worst day of the year so everyone stay home!!

Wow, the fluidity of Wal-Marts sale ad is really scaring me. I am noticing that it depends on which store you pick as to what specials you get. For example my boss picked the store close to his house and it has a laptop for $488 but my store shows it for $378?? I think Wal Mart is in the process of changing prices on the fly. Not sure what this is going to do for the flyers already printed.

Supermarkets do it all the time, one town will have one price and the next town over will either have it higher or lower. They do it depending on if you live in a richer area or not.
