Yes, I’m having a technical problem connecting to my Canon 9900F scanner. I’ve been using the scanner since 2010, no problem until this past week. Now my electricity went off last Monday for about a hour. No surges or storms. Called my electric company, said they had it down, working on a problem. Electric back on. My computer/scanner wasn’t on when the electric power went off.

First I turn on my 2005 PowerPC Mac G5 Quad computer, then my Canon scanner. the scanner downloads, activating scanner, but you don’t hear the scanner engaging. So I go into my Photoshop CS2, click on Import, then click on ScanGear CS 8.2.1X. Usually scanner driver engages again, but it doesn’t. So an error sign comes up stating this:
“Cannot communicate with scanner.”
“Cable may be disconnected”
“Check status”
“Scanner driver will be closed”
