Hi there, we have a 2006 iMac in the house. Not used as much anymore but we do have some important documents saved on the machine. The power cable was pulled out the back when the Mac was in sleep mode. When it was plugged back in, it will no longer start up.

It's completely dead, with the exception of a faint ticking noise. Tried resetting the SMU but that makes no difference. Thinking it is a possible PSU problem? Could the fact that the power cable was pulled out in sleep mode have affected the PSU at all??

Any suggestions are greatly appreciated. : )

Thanks guys
