I have a 2006 iMac with 2 1gig ram sticks (original). I have a 2gig stick that I would like to put in. I cannot get either the upper or lower ram out. There are 2 levers which I pull and it ejects the ram a tiny bit. I then try to pull it out but it does not budge. Is there a tool I could use like pliers with electrical tape to pull it out? Or take the iMac apart? I followed the Apple instructions but they do not help.

Warranty is not an issue. Any tricks?

Try needle nose pliers with a very thin layer of tape to protect the ram chip. Should work. Those white iMac ram slots are a pain

Great idea. I thought I was going crazy. All the videos made it seem simple.

Thank you,

Edit: Used what you suggested and it worked great!
