hello... i have a 2006 17" MacBook Pro that i got fixed up recently but the original LCD had dead pixels on it so I am thinking of upgrading it to a WUXGA panel i have sitting around.... i did try to boot the machine with the panel installed but the screen wouldn't come on, despite having all
the cables situated and everything. i wonder if somehow i need to modify firmware or something to get it working, but both panels are samsungs (the original and my planned replacement), so i'm not sure it needs any hardware work done. i've not seen much information on others WUXGA swapping these macbooks so i have no idea if this should work or not but i have heard of a person or 2 on obscure
forums that may have gotten it working. or at least under windows (which isnt good enough for me).
