So I have a 2006 MacBook Pro where the motherboard has basically fried. I really think it would be best to upgrade to something newer so I was wondering how much should I sell the computer as is?

Definitely upgrade to something newer - You'll notice a world of difference between that 2006 MacBook Pro and a new one :)

A 2006 MacBook Pro would be worth little. One with a fried motherboard... Negligible, unfortunately. You could try selling it as is on eBay, but don't expect much.

Look on craigslist. A lot of times there are people that will buy old Macs, working or not and use them for parts.

Just make sure to pull your hard drive or at least wipe it so none of your data is stolen.
