2006 Mbp 1.5 Sata?

Does anyone else have this problem? I am pretty sure, with all the ruckus about the new uMBP being "downgraded" (problem has been solved now with firmware), that all the old models had a 3.0 gigabit connection.

I have a Merom 2.16 C2D macbook pro that I think is from 2006. All updates have been applied. I am running 10.5.7 and software updater is not showing any new firmware for me.

because apple did not introduce sata 3.0 back then. sorry, you're stuck with 1.5

The ICH-7M controller is limited to 1.5 Gbps.
